Star Parties
You do not have to know anything about astronomy or telescopes to attend AAC star parties nor do you need to bring a telescope! Club members are amenable to help beginners learn about the sky and are willing to share their viewing time with others. Please be sure to understand the appropriate "Star Party Etiquette" for each location/event, as the rules may vary.

Star parties begin shortly before sunset. Some star parties feature a short presentation at or before sunset, so don't be late!

Star parties designated as "semi-private" are for the AAC's dues paying members and their guests. Anyone desiring an invitation may contact the star party chair. Please include your full name. We ask that anyone that attends two or more star parties within a year help support our organization by becoming a member.

Special event star parties such as the Kanapaha Moonlight Walk, lunar eclipses and planet oppositions are open to the public; some free, some by admission. Other special star parties may be announced under special events.

Also, be sure to check out the UF Astronomy Department's public observatory nights, held most Friday's during session.
