On September 17, 2002, Chuck Broward demonstrated how to make a solar filter with materials from the home and office with a little help from Baader film. Baader Solar Filter
The meeting was held at the Seminar Room of the Physics Department at the University of Florida. At the time of the meeting, there was the multi-conference system being tested and our talk was used for that purpose (hence, some of the odd images in the background of these photos).
Here are some pictures of our meeting!
Chuck ready to strike! Chuck presents the material: Cardboard and Baader film. One homemade filter for naked-eye visual solar observation. Another homemade filter for a 60mm Jason telescope. Cutting the Baader film. The team is ready for hands-on ATM fun! Fred getting a work out. Fred calculates as Pat examines another filter. Finally, some progress! As you can see, we learned a lot!. Thanks to Chuck for introducing us to Baader film!
