A Report: The Club's Scope

by Gilbert Bernardo

Upon closer inspection of the 6" reflector donated to AAC, the mirror proved to be an Edmund f/6 #1706. Testing the mirror showed a very smooth surface with a slight depression in the center. Zonal measurements showed it to be about 1/7 wave. A very slight turned edge was noticeable, but that will be masked by the mirror cell. This scope should perform quite well.

The mirror and diagonal were sent to P.A.P. Coating in California. These guys do a good job but they are slow.

I will begin by re-doing the mount and the scope should be ready for use by Christmas, 1991.
